Baila Louca workshops
with:
Javier Cura
In search of a Dionisian
Apolinian dance
Tango and Contact Improvisation
we will bring together elements of each other to create a richer and liberating
form of physical expression.
From tango we’ll borrow:
The clarity of axis
The interplay of balances and counter balances
Rhythm
Spirals
From Contact
improvisation we’ll borrow:
Principles of Martial Arts useful for CI:
Falls, levas, grounding, The conscious use of centripetal and centrifugal
forces
The free body relation to the earth,
The unlimited and unschemed relations established with the partner
The objective of the workshop is to reach to an improvised
dance of great clarity of form and at the same time, free and instintive in
it’s expression.

Dunja Jocic floor-work, improvisation, partnering, flying high
- landing low, awareness of the focus, sensibility, going from one extreme to
another.
It's not about decorating us, but bringing out the movement from an honest
place inside. We will not just stick to the technique we gained, but be open to
surprises, finding new capacities, qualities and (expressions) not revealed
yet.
She's currently with Club Guy & Roni. She danced with Emio Greco/PC and
Ballet du Noord.
She has taught workshops of Club Guy and Roni, Australian Dance Company,
National Ballet Novi Sad and Theatre Academy in Belgrade.

The Intimacy of Moving,
Moving Technique & Composing Instantly
In The Intimacy of Moving the focus is on intimately moving
with-in your self (technique) and related to your environment (composition). We
use aspects and principles of the Skinner Releasing Technique and simple exercises
working individually, in partners and in the group. We investigate inner
awareness and outer focus while moving; to be intimately in touch with where we
are, and to use the imagination and intelligence in direct action and in
composition.
The work includes dealing with time, space and ‘story’ with-in the body itself
and of the body in relationship. We tune into different layers and investigate
how fine tuning into these different layers affects how we are relating; to
ourselves, to others, to space, to time, to the piece. The ongoing interest is
to dance with an aliveness and efficiency in the body and an inherently
perceptive, available and responsive self while composing instantly.
Lily Kiara is dancer, singer, songwriter and teacher based in
Amsterdam. She has been making dance pieces since 1989. Her most recent work is
a solo with dance, text and songs: Moving South, which so far has been seen
throughout The Netherlands, Finland and Italy.
She made a series of performances THE PULSE PROJECTS, among which was the duet
TALK TO ME with dancer, poet Julyen Hamilton. She creates her pieces often in
collaboration with musicians, most recently with Felicity Provan, Wilbert de
Joode and Rozemarie Heggen.
The latest collective is The BOX, a piece with 2 double bass players (de Joode
and Heggen) and 2 dancers (Hamilton and Kiara). Since 1995 she works closely
with lighting designer Ellen Knops.
She plays music in a program `Songs & Poems´ with Julyen Hamilton, Michael
Moore, Felicity Provan and Rozemarie Heggen. She produced 2 albums
independently: ‘No Alibi’ in 2001 and ‘South’ in 2006. In 2007 2 new albums
will be released, 1 with songs and 1 with poetry and music.
She has performed in numerous countries around the world and worked with
choreographers such as Angelika Oei, Katrina Brown, Pauline de Groot, as guest
with Magpie Music Dance Company
